Mammoth Hot Springs Area
Mammoth Hot Springs area is located 8 km (5 mi) South of the North entrance at Gardiner.

This was caused by the deposition of limestone (calcium carbonate).
Bacteria and alga in the warm water pools in the terraces are responsible for the colours of the terraces.
There are trails which will bring you close to the terraces. There is a visitor center in Mammoth Hot Spring. The Park Headquarters is also located here. Among the facilities in the area are a clinic, a post office, lodging and foodservice.
