Activities
There are many things you can do in Yellowstone NP. Besides admiring the thermal wonders you can go horseback riding, boating or fishing. Also guided tour by park rangers are available. In the winter there are also oppurtunities for snowmobiling and cross-country skiing.

Campgrounds
There are twelve campgrounds in the park. Five campgrounds are operated by AmFac Parks&Resorts and seven are operated by the NPS. Reservations are only accepted for campgrounds operated by AmFac Parks&Resorts. Only the campground near Mammoth is open all year. The other camprounds are open from May/June till September/October.

Entrance fees
If you enter the park with a car a fee of $25 per car is charged. Visitors who enter the park on foot or by bicycle are charged a fee of $12 per person. The entrance permit is valid for a week and is also valid for Grand Teton National Park.
An anual pass is available for $40.

If you are planning to visit more national parks then you should consider purchasing a so called Interagency Annual Pass. This pass ($80) is valid for a personal vehicle and occupants and is valid in almost every National Park Service units. It is valid for one year.

My opinion about Yellowstone
Photo (5Kb) I really like Yellowstone national Park. I certainly will vist the park for a third time. If you are going to visit the park you will need at least two days to take a quick look at all the major attractions.
One negative point about the park is that it is really crowded, especially during June, July and August
